Widget Types, Data Source, and Filters
Explore the details of supported widget types and data sources below. See how these choices come together to shape your reports, creating dynamic filters that make your data come alive.
Widget Types
Widget types define how your data is visualized. Currently supported widget types include:
-
Metric Count: Shows the total count of selected metrics.
-
Metric Trend: Displays a trend for the chosen data points.
-
List: Presents data in a list format.
-
Text: Allows the inclusion of textual information in your report.
-
Table: Organizes data in a tabular format.
-
Chart: Represents data through various chart types. Currently we support only bar chart.
-
Top Risks: Highlights the most critical risks.
-
Risk Score: Visualizes the risk score associated with your data.
-
Summary: Provides a summarized view of selected data.
-
Unit Consumptions: Illustrates the consumption of units over time.
Choose a widget type based on how you want to visualize your data. For example, selecting 'Metric Count' and filtering by 'Status: FAILED' will display the total number of failed findings. Similarly, choosing 'Metric Trend' will show a trend/line chart for the corresponding data points.
Data Sources
Data sources are the information stored in our system, such as findings, alerts, and assets-related data. The available data sources are:
- Assets
- Alerts
- Findings
- Compliance
- Risk Score
- Vulnerabilities
- Tenant Usage
The widget type you select determines which data source options are applicable. For example, if you choose 'Table' as the widget type, the available data source will be 'Findings' since tabular visualization is currently supported for findings data only. Explore the relevant data sources based on your chosen widget type to tailor your reports accordingly.
Filters
Plerion platform supports different filter groups, tailored to your selected widget type and data source. For example, if you choose 'Metric Trend' as the widget type and 'Assets' as the data source, you'll see filters relevant to this combination.
